From April 20 to 27, 2026, Sant’Anna Hospital in Turin hosted six Ukrainian professionals for an advanced internship in obstetrics, focusing on the management of intrapartum emergencies and high-risk pregnancies.
The project was supported by the Fondazione Medicina a Misura di Donna, in collaboration with Sant’Anna Hospital, the Department of Surgical Sciences of the University of Turin, and the School of Specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics, directed by Professor Luca Marozio.
Professor Volodymyr Artyomenko, the Obstetrics and Gynecology representative for the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, chose Sant’Anna as the location for the training program, identifying Turin as a suitable environment for training dedicated to obstetric care and complex situations.
The activities were conducted following the Training The Trainers model, with the aim of sharing skills that professionals can then apply in their own work environments. At the core of the program was the REC – Research and Educational Center for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a clinical simulation center dedicated to gynecology and obstetrics.
For the Foundation, supporting this initiative means contributing to the advanced training of caregivers, enhancing the role of Sant’Anna and REC as benchmarks for quality of care and the growth of professional competencies.
